We will also be showcasing our up and coming talents through our Rising Star write ups. This week we feature Senior Stylist, Johnny Mckinlay.
Johnny has been working within the hair industry for over 12 years, much of which was in the heart of London. In his early days, Johnny was always interested in furthering his education and achieved this by participating in educational seminars in both Paris and London, including a creative cutting course with Vidal Sassoon.
Due to his talent and eagerness to learn, Johnny was soon appointed as an educator for a leading U.K hair extension brand and has gained recognition and appraisal from the likes of Stephen Messias, former chairman of the British fellowship of hairdressing.
After training in many aspects of Trichotherapy, Johnny kept himself busy by participating in radio shows giving hair advice and producing work for Salon International in London.
Since arriving in Australia, he has been actively involved in advertorial work for magazines such as Vogue, Dolly and Harpers
Bazaar as well as editorial work for various Australian designers.
Johnny’s background has lead him to play a pivotal role, not only on the salon floor as a Senior Stylist, but within the PReMA creative team, participating in fashion week, runway shows and editorial shoots.
