PREMA held it's launch party for the brand new Surry Hills salon just over six weeks ago. The night was a great success, as PREMA turned out the lights and pumped up the jam for more than 100 guests and staff. In fact celebrations spilled on into the early morning for some. Fashion is in the air, as Autumn / Winter collections make their way off the runways and into our shopping bags!
PREMA were recently involved with Westfield's Gala V.I.P night, which was presented in conjunction with Harper's Bazaar. The hair on the evening involved relaxed styles with slight waves. The fashion had a rocky edge featuring touches of the 80's, whilst keeping a relaxed feminine feel. Fashion week is almost over and PReMA would love to share some of the looks with you. On Tuesday 4th May, the PReMA creative team were styling at the 'Bassike' fashion show. The styles were classic, slick and asymmetrical. Check out the shots to the right taken from the catwalk. We also have a video of all the backstage action, thanks to Aveda.
The PReMA team were also out in full force with designer 'Michael Lo Sordo' on Thursday the 6th. The hair was natural, simple and sexy. Take a look at the video below and feel the backstage buzz!

Great news for PREMA!!. The Hair Expo weekend is coming up and we are pleased to announce that PREMA Surry Hills have made it to the finals of Best New Salon Design.
Gareth Lenagh from our Bondi salon has also done us proud, by making it to the finals of the Aveda Colour Harmony Awards. We congratulate all involved and are crossing our fingers and toes till the Hair Expo weekend, 12th-14th June. PREMA will also be sharing our experiences with you over the weekend, so keep an eye on this page for further details!

Culture magazine have just released their pre-hair expo edition, subtitled "Great Expectations". In it the PREMA team discusses the icy effects and the cooling sensations they were striving to achieve in their last major shoot.
A great effort yet again to be featured within the hallowed pages of this issue, along with the other finalists for the Aveda Colour Harmony Awards.
Again our many best wishes go out to Gareth Lenagh for hair and Tammi Hendrix for makeup, as well as thanks to James Nash for photography, Nicky Phillips from Dress Me Darling for styling and Anthony Robles for post production.

This long weekend brings Hair Expo to Sydney. The PReMA team will be there in force and we'll be sharing the news with you.
Sat 12th sees Lisa Jane Massey presenting Aveda's new "Sublime" collection on stage.
Sun 13th is a busy day, with PReMA's director Francesco Ruggerino holding a seminar entitled "Bench marking your business", as featured in the latest issue of culture magazine.
Followed by the anouncement of the winner of the "Aveda Colour Harmony Awards", where PReMA's Garath Lenagh is a finalist.
Mon 14th is the final day of the expo and sees PReMA at yet another award's ceremony. This time we are vying for the "Best New Salon Design" award. This promises to be a memoral occassion as this may be the second time we take out this honour.
At PReMA we have a lot of interstate visitors, so if your in Sydney, please come and say hello and please feel free to visit us in either our Bondi salon or our new space in Surry Hills!

The newly formed Australian Hairdressing Council has had a hell of a year, all culminating into last long weekends Hair Expo. Please feel free to watch this inspirational video, featuring some of the most influential people in our industry.

Yesterday the PReMA creative team were hard at
work on a photo shoot, for the inaugural launch of a range called "Emerald Couture".
The labels primary focus is merging with all art forms to create wearable art garments. The brief called for 1920s flapper mixed with contemporary clown, all offset by the stunning makeup created by Amy Sartorel.
This is to be released on the heals of the "Born Again - Emerald Couture Collection 2010" in September, which is an extension of the show the director of Emerald Couture created in April, "Being Born Again Couture", and was featured on the ABC's Art Nation just a month ago. Some people may be familiar with our dog of the week article, which we put up on Facebook over the warmer months, showcasing the myriad of dogs in and around Surry Hills.
One of our first articles featured twenty two month old Karl the Boxer. Sadly Karls father David has informed the PReMA crew that he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in the shoulder, resulting in the amputation of it just two weeks ago and will be followed by chemotherapy over the next four weeks. Karl has been a joyful figure around Surry Hills, not only bringing a smile to many a person on Crown Street but to the staff here at PReMA.
We wish Karl and his family all the best over the coming weeks and hope for a speedy recovery.
